Final Website Presenations (Video)

Overview

You will be creating a video presentation reviewing your final website. The final website and this video will be graded together. This presentation will be 2-3 minutes in length. You will cover the following in your presentation:

  1. Show us your website
  2. What was your favorite project?
  3. What do you feel you did your best work on? (Show us the project post to refresh our memories)
  4. What did you struggle most with (project/assignment/etc)?
  5. Are you graduating? Do you have a job lined up?
  6. What are some ways that you plan on using your visual media skills in the future?
Practice presenting this material to make this video polished. This might require you to record this a few times. You will then upload your video to YouTube, and provide a link to this video as your initial post for the “Final Website/Presentation Submission” thread on Facebook (Facebook Group Link). Finally you will watch at least 15 of your peers’ videos. You will also leave a comment on each video you watch.

Below you can find detailed instructions on how to complete this activity.

Video Screen—Capture Instructions

  1. Write a 1–2 minute well-prepared presentation. This should cover the points covered above.
  2. Use Screencastomatic, or another screen capturing software, to record your presentation (Follow the very quick demo on the Screencastomatic homepage if screencasting is new to you).
  3. Review your video to make sure it is polished. Re-recording your presentation may be necessary at this point.
  4. Download the finished video, or publish straight to YouTube from Screencastomatic.

Upload Video Instructions (If downloaded in last step)

  1. Go to YouTube.com and sign into your account.
  2. Press the Upload button (top right)
  3. In the middle of the page, change the drop-down to “unlisted” and click “Select files to upload.”
  4. Navigate to where your video/screencast is saved. Fill out the video name and description. Click “done” when the video is finished uploading.

Comments

You will need to respond to at least 15 posts, on the Facebook thread (Facebook Group Link), before the End Date set in I-Learn. Your comment should include uplifting feedback about the project that was presented in the video. Include specific details about the project to prove you watch the video. Generic responses will result in a lower grade.

Failure to present/comment will result in your overall course grade being lowered one letter.
