Identity Inspiration

Introduction

You never want to go into a project without a plan. This activity will help you decide what you want to do for your identity project. You will research an array of personal brand marks to help determine what styles you like. Try to think about your end goal, and who you want to hire you. This is your target audience. Keep them in mind as you decide how you want to brand yourself. You do not need to design anything at this point.

Inspiration

Open a Pinterest Account: You will need to create a Pinterest account if you don’t already have one. After logging into your account create a board named “Identity.” Check out my “Identity” Pinterest board (Please don’t repin more than two of my pins for this activity):

You will need to pin at least 15 inspirational personal brand marks/logos. Keep in mind that this exercise is to help you come up with your own personal brand mark.
Here is a video tutorial on how to pin an image/website: http://youtu.be/Sp6kiiRDrAo

Social Media Survey

Next you will want to make a post on your Facebook or other social media platform that asks others to help you brainstorm topics, words, or anything else that define you as a person. You will need to gather at least 10 items of feedback. This is to designed to help you understand how others perceive you, which can be helpful when trying to brand yourself. I chose to post the following on my Facebook:
“When you think of Eric Lybbert what words come to mind? ~ Keep it nice :)”
